My Cards for Halloween Card Swap

I decided to participate in my first card swap.  I found a group on You Tube that was doing a Halloween Card Swap.  I am so excited!  I have always wanted to do one, but wasn't sure where or how to go about it.

We have to make 6 cards (5 to swap and one for the host to keep) and they need to be minimum A2 size and include at least three embellishments.  They need to have enough "effort" in them for the recipient to enjoy.  I think (hope) that I met all these requirements.

The first three cards feature digi stamps that I purchased from Pink Cat Studio, click here.

Here are six baggies with some "Candy" Goodies that will be a *suprise* for the recipients of my cards.  In these baggies I put a punched spider web border (Martha Stewart), a strip of black/silver rhinestone mesh ribbon (Hobby Lobby), a piece of green with white stitch ribbon (Hobby Lobby), a hand stamped greeting sentiment, a 3D sticker embellishment, and two plastic bat and spider buttons (not sure where I got these, Joann's maybe?)

Paper Smooches Squirrel

This cute little guy is a free digi stamp from my favorite stamp company, Paper Smooches.  He is just too adorable for words.  I used some left over patterned paper from my stash.  I used a scallop oval Sizzix die to cut him out and colored him with my copics.

LIfe is a Carnival

Who doesn't love the fair or a carnival?  I especially LOVE cotton candy.  There is just something about it that I can not leave without bringing home a bag or two.

This stamp set from The Crafts Meow is just adorable.  There are alot of great images and sentiments with this set.  The patterned paper is from Stampin D Amour, click here.

I haven't decided yet if I want to color in the images, or just leave them black and white.  I'm kind of leaning toward leaving them.  There's something pleasing to me about the simpleness of just the red, navy blue, black and white.  What do you think?

Jumbled Happy Birthday, Inspired by Pinterest

If you can tell by most of my cards, I tend to be a more clean, geometric design type of card maker.  I am definately not a collage and roses type.

Who doesn't love Pinterest?  I try not to copy a card exactly, but there are some cards that I love so much that I do try to come close to the original design, of course linking back to the original maker.

I liked this image so much, that I decided to pull out my Printmaster program and try to make one of my own.  I used a similar, but different font, and changed up the sizes on some of the letters.  I then put it on some fun, bright paper.  Someone should make this basic image into a stamp.....

Ready to Pop?

The Alley Way Stamps makes an adorable set that has some pregnancy images on it.  I have alot of sets that focus on baby images, but this is the only one I have that has "before baby" images.

The set is called, Reel Time, CLICK HERE to see the set over at The Alley Way Stamps.

Fishing Tales

One thing I realized at my last craft show was that I didn't have to many masculine cards.  So, I have been trying to come up with more of these types of cards.  They tend to be out of the norm for me.  I have a lot of ideas for girly cards, but when it comes to working with blues, browns, and dark greens, colors that we typically think of as "manly" I have a harder time with being inspired.

This image I have had saved on my computer *years and years* ago.  I don't even know the original origin of it.  I will try to find it, and post it if I can.

The paper is from the Great Outdoors paper pack from The Paper Studio (I bought it at Hobby Lobby).  I inked around the edges with creamy brown chalk ink and put three small brown buttons along the bottom.

I found the link for the stamp set, it's from Stamps by Judith.  click here

Inspired by Pinterest

I just love the simpleness of this card layout.  The colors are pretty and vibrant.  The sentiment could be used in so many ways.  To lift someone up from a bad day, to tell someone you love them, to even wish them a Happy Birthday.  And then to pair them with a Paper Smooches stamp, makes them even better.  ( I love Paper Smooches!)
