Using up Scraps

So, I am terrible at using up scraps.  I generally hang onto them in a bin until I can't stand it any longer and either throw them away or give them away to my sister in law, who even though she is getting scraps is very grateful for them because it gives her the opportunity to get to use neat and pretty papers that her tight budget doesn't allow.  So, today, I TOLD myself I was using up some scraps, so I made this set of cards.  The little white daisies are from K&Company.

Dancing Bears Wedding Card

This cute little card was made with Spellbinders Label Eight dies, Pink Glitter paper from DCWV The Dazzle Stack and some white satin ribbon from The Dollar Tree.   The stamp is from Lili of the Valley, Shall We Dance and colored with my copic markers.

My husband's uncle was getting married and so I needed to throw together a card.  I don't make very many wedding or anniversary cards so I was a little out of my comfort zone.  It is my goal this year to make more of these types of cards and have them on hand, instead of panicking at the last minute.

Card for Kelly

I made this totally cute card for my friend Kelly.  She hasn't received it yet, it's in the mail.  I had asked her to look at a Target near her for the yellow washi paper tape, since the three Target's in my area do not carry the yellow.  She had never heard of washi tape, needless to say she does now and blames me for adding another "obsession" to her already growing list.  hahaha

This card is made using that yellow washi tape and a new stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  Cardstock is Papertrey Ink's Stampers White and True Black.

Father's Day cards

Here are three cards I made for the men in my daughter's life.  The first one is for her Daddy, the second one is for her Grandpa John, and the third is for her Uncle Ricky.
This is a very simple card, I meant to color it in with my Prisma Color pencils but didn't get time to.  The stamp set is from CTMH A Bowwow and the ribbon is from Paper Smooches.

Several stamp sets were used.  The main animal images, fire, and wood sign are from Paper Smooches Happy Camper.  The Father's Day sentiment is from a My Pink Stamper set (can't remember the name).  The Grandpa and Bear'y Special are from Scappy Moms and Pink by Design.  I used my Fiskars Cloud punch and patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and Recollections Bold Basics.
And for the last card I made using CTMH Born to Ride stamp set, and washi tape from Love My Tapes.

Coloring your own Gemstones with Copic Markers

Hobby Lobby just got in these big glittery gemstones.  So, I thought I would try coloring my own with Copics.  This way instead of having to use only the colors that they make, I can color them in whatever color I want, to match whatever I want to use them for.
I have a video on youtube showing how I colored them.
Check it out here: http://youtu.be/aWPKkUDpamU

CTMH New Stamps

I just got a couple of new stamps sets from my friend Kelly in Colorado.  She sells CTMH, and they are having a sale this month, buy two sets get one free.  So, I had to play around with them the same day I got them.

This card was stamped using Hooray Bouquet on Papertrey Ink True Black cardstock.  The flower was stamped in CTMH Sorbet ink and the purple inside was stamped in Stampin Up Lovely Lilac.  The sentiment was heat embossed using Versamark and Hampton Arts A La Mode white embossing powder.  The striped patterened paper is from my favorite Recollections Paper Pack-Bold Basics.  The white rick rack ribbon is also from CTMH.  I used my white Signo gel pen to add stitch marks.

This card is also on Papertrey Ink's True Black cardstock.  The stamps are from CTMH The Best Things stamp set.  It is also heat embossed using Versamark and Hampton Arts A La Mode white embossing powder.  I used Rangers Enamels for the white dots.

Happy Little Flower Cards

Here are two totally adorable cards I made yesterday for two little adorable girls who were having a birthday party.

All cards stock is from Papertrey Ink, Harvest Gold, Berry Sorbet, and New Leaf.
The patterned paper is from Echo Park's Hello Summer pad.
The flowers are a die/stamp combo from Peachy Keen Stamps called Cottage Cutz in Funny Flowers.
The sentiment stamps is from Hero Arts, Many Birthday Messages
The green ribbons for their bows is from Hobby Lobby.
Also ran the flowers through my Swiss Dots embossing folder and doodled some white stitch lines.  I used white gel pen to highlight their eyes and a hot pink Bic Mark It marker for their noses and tongue.
The punch on the inside is from Stampin Up.  I think it's called Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

Bird and Owl Cards

I recently discovered a digi stamp store, Pink Cat Studio.  I few in love with their digi stamps.  You can get them in the traditional black and white, or you can do as I did and request them in the colored version.  I am not the best colorer with my copics, so I thought they were colored really nice already.

Take a Seat Cards

Here are some cards I made using the C.C. Designs Sugarplum Take a Seat stamp set from All That Scraps.   All of the stamped images were colored using my Bic Mark It markers, except for the skin I colored with my Copic markers.  All of the base card stock was from Recollections from Michaels.  The patterened paper was also from Recollections, the Bold Basics pad.  The thicker tan hemp twine is from Lawn Fawn's Lawn Trimmings line.  The buttons are from Papertrey Ink.  The sentiment stamps are from Paper Smooches, Sentiment Sampler.

I think I am going to add a couple of little birdies in the birdbath card.  Looks weird without them, I think.  Hope you like them!
