Teacher Appreciation GIfts

I just wanted to share with you the gifts that my 4 year old daughter, Emily and I did for all of her 3 year preschool teachers. She had 8 teachers!  Plus I did cards for her 3 bus drivers. Wow! She had quite the posse! I gave everyone except Maria (her main teacher) and the bus drivers a cool cup filled with crystal light drink mix packets. I gave Maria a wood letter M wall hanging that I painted and decorated.  The bus drivers got cards. I gave these all out 2 weeks ago, when it was Teacher's Appreciation Week instead of waiting until the last weekof school. I reused some of the gift bags that we had left over from the raffle at Emily's Epilepsy Benefit.

Coaster Post It Mini Clipboards

A picture I saw on Pinterest encouraged me to borrow this idea of making simple post it notepad holders from coasters.  In about an hour I whipped up 16 of these.  Of course, my family and friends will end up being the lucky recipients of them.

The coasters I purchased from Papertrey Ink, the fun colored binder clips are from Staples, the post its you can get anywhere (I bought a big pack from Sam's Club), and I just used various scraps of paper.
The paper is cut to 4x4 with the corners rounded.  I used my ATG gun to tape the paper to the coasters.

I think I am going to get out my alpha stickers and put the word "Notes" on them (like pictured in the red/orange dot patterned sample).  Although the paper is really cute on it's own, I just think they need a little "something".  Maybe some I will put on a flower/brad or a button/twine.  I have some cute little sunglasses buttons from Dress It Up buttons (you know, those little packs of cute novelty buttons) that I think I will put on the Peace ones.

If my family and friends really love them, I will probably put them on my next craft show.  I figured out the cost on them to be $1.49 in supplies, with the notepad being the most expensive piece at $1.05 each.  But a person could easily purchase the 2 or 3 pack yellow ones from the dollar store.  The reason I bought mine at Sam's Club was that I could get several colors and they were in the "Super Sticky" variety versus the plain sticky variety.  I tend to like the "Super Sticky" ones better due to their stickiness longevity.

Supplies breakdown:
4x4 Coasters:  Papertrey Ink (25 for $1) is 4 cents each
Colored Binder Clips: Staples (15 for $3.99) is 27 cents each
"Super Sticky" Colored 3x3 Post it Pad:  Sam's Club (10 for $10.26) is $1.03 each
Scrapbook Paper: Varies
ATG tape: Minimal
Alpha Stickers: Optional

Of course, you could definitely do these ALOT cheaper if you were to use black binder clips and plain yellow post it pads and purchased your items at dollar stores.  This is just what I had on hand.  The only thing I went out and purchased yesterday to make these was the binder clips, I had everything else already.

So, I think I would probably double the cost and sell them for $3.  Personally, I know I tend to under price my creations.  The way I look at it, I am not in crafting, card making, and scrapbooking to get rich, I do it because I enjoy it.  I would much rather break even and sell it, and hope it brings joy and happiness to the recipient than to go home with everything I brought because I have it priced to high.  Because let's face it, no matter how cute you might think it is and hope someone else does too, if it is priced to high they won't buy it, no matter how cute it is.  So, this is just my view point, everyone has their own, this is mine.

If you have any questions on the specifics, like the paper, etc. leave me a comment.

Bra/Thong Card

Hi, I got the inspiration to design this card after seeing a post from a friend who had repinned a similar version from Pinterest.  For my card I designed it entirely on my Gypsy.  I took 2 rounded hearts and welded them together to make the body base card.  I then cut two more of each heart, but seperated, onto chipboard, hand cut to desired shape for the bra cups and the thong.  I then used my reuseable chipboard template to handcut the patterened paper.  I decorated my bra and undies with ribbon and tulle/beaded flowers from my stash.  The stamps are from Pink by Design "Breast Wishes" set.

Oh my, so many posts at once....

I have been very naughty when it came to keeping up with my blog.  It is my goal from now on to post at least once a week.  I am always making cards and taking pictures of them, so why haven't I bothered to take the time to upload them to my blog?  I follow other people's blogs, actually I follow about 15-20 of them, so why can't I find a few minutes to take care of mine?  Good question.  I don't have a good enough answer aside from pure laziness.  So, I hope that the few followers that I do have will enjoy my posts and continue to follow my blog.  Thank you, Stacy

Skinny Notepads

I made these skinny little notepads for my family, friends, and school teachers for this last Christmas.  I used stamps from Paper Smooches and The Stamps of Life.  The little notepads I purchased from Papertrey Ink.  I borrowed this idea from a video I watched on Youtube
